Messuilla saatiinkin mukavasti kerättyä uusia kasvustokohteita. Varsinkin jättiputkea tuntuu löytyvän kyllä pitkin poikin Pirkanmaata. Onneksi kuultiin myös selviytymistarinoita siitä, miten jättiputkesta on päästy omalla pihalla eroon. Sitkeää työtä se on kyllä vaatinut! Kertomuksia kuunnellessa kävi varsin selväksi, että yhden pihan siistiminen tuo vain väliaikaista helpotusta, jos kasvustoja löytyy yhä vain naapurustossa. Yhteinen rintama torjuntatyössä tuo pidempiaikaiset tulokset.
Ihastuttavaa oli kuulla, miten moni yhdistys tekee jo työtä puutarhakarkulaisten kiinni saamiseksi tai on innostunut yhteistyöstä. Ainakin Tampereen Puutarhaseura, Maatiainen ja Tampereen Luonnonsuojeluyhdistys ottivat heti puutarhakarkulaisten uutukaisia Ota karkulaiset kiinni -kortteja jakaakseen omalle väelle. Karkulaisten kiinni saaminen vaatii yhteistyötä ja onneksi sitä meiltä Pirkanmaalta löytyy!
Käteen jäi messuilta kasvustoilmoitusten lisäksi muutama minttu omallekin pihalle. Kesää odotellessa!
